This project is a strategic initiative by Syncrude Canada Ltd. to fast track the completion activities for the balance of the Syncrude UE-1 project. In partnership with the engineering company CoSyn Technologies, PCL Industrial Constructors Inc. was selected as the general contractor to efficiently complete punchlist deficiencies and design upgrades, including new pipe fabrication for all UE-1 plants, after each plants' mechanical completion and prior to its startup. Additional scope included support of Ready For Operations (RFO) activities as well as precommissioning and commissioning. This work included all trade disciplines. PCL began this project in August 2005 with an anticipated completion of June 2006.
